“You ask which generation had it easier, our parents’ or ours.
I think theirs, for sure. Times have changed a lot since our parents were kids. Some adults pay very little attention to life in the “not so kiddie” childhood of today. It’s pretty obvious that stress is more common now than in the past generations because there are lots more things to be stressed about. Growing up these days is a lot tougher than most people think. The problem isn’t that some parents forget what it’s like to be a kid; it is that they don’t realize how fast times are changing and they make the mistake of trivializing our problems. We are immersed in a culture that parents don’t understand. Sure, we may seem moody, but we have a lot on our minds.”
